Microsoft is testing a new way of selling the “pro” functions of Copilot in its Microsoft 365 applications. Since their launch last year, they have been grouped behind the paid Copilot Pro subscription – but the publisher is experimenting with integration into the office suite on subscription in some countries, against a price increase. Waiting for expansion all over the world?
Microsoft wanna Really put its generative AI tools in everyone's hands. Nine months ago, the publisher launched the general public version of Copilot Pro : for €22 per month, users of the Personal and Family versions of Microsoft 365 can “boost” their applications with a good dose of artificial intelligence. Creation of images, texts, slides, generation of summaries… The AI classic for World, Outlook, Excel and others.
The Copilot Pro option on a siding?
Obviously, this formula has difficulty attracting users. This is why the company has decided to integrate all Copilot Pro tools into Microsoft 365, but not everywhere: for the moment, this revised offer is only offered in Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore , in Taiwan and Thailand. Microsoft is even adding Designer to the bundle, which allows you to create images via text queries.
Users of Copilot's AI functions in Microsoft 365 applications will still be limited, in fact they will receive a certain volume of “credits” each month to generate content. In case of excess, the group recommends subscribing to Copilot Pro which has no usage limit.
This new Microsoft 365 will cost a little more. In Australia, for example, the subscription increase is AU$4 to AU$5, or €2.50 to €3. Very far from the AU$33 (around €20) requested for Copilot Pro… This is perhaps an admission of failure for this paid option, but Microsoft is first seeking to test its new proposition on “small” markets before extending it to the rest of the world.
In France, Copilot Pro remains billed separately, at a price of €22 per user per month. And a priori, there is no change for the version of Copilot Pro intended for businesses, which remains a paid option (it was launched a year ago almost to the day and costs €30 per month per user ).
