Known for his appearance in the series The Boys, this actor will return in 2025 on Amazon Prime Video in a new detective series.

A new role for Soldier Boy

Discovered by the general public with his role in the series Supernatural, Jensen Ackles is preparing a new project for the coming year. After his portrayal of Soldier Boy in The Boys, the actor gained some notoriety. It must be said that he superbly embodies a most charismatic soldier, whose feats of arms are far from being laughable. A gain in enthusiasm that even pushed some fans to ask for him as Batman in the new DC Universe piloted by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Requests to which the American actor responded by saying that he would love to play his favorite superhero, but that he had not received any offers at the moment.

While waiting to find out more about the new interpreter of the black knight, Jensen Ackles will return with a new detective series called Countdown. The actor, who we seem to see more in superhero roles, will play Mark Meachum, a Los Angeles police officer. Following a suspicious murder in broad daylight, our protagonist will be recruited into a group of secret agents, who are infiltrated into law enforcement to investigate. This team will have to learn to abandon their pride to unite and solve the investigation. An investigation which will become more and more worrying, as the team discovers more.

A series expected for 2025

For this series, a season of thirteen episodes is expected. A length therefore slightly greater than current standards, allowing the plot of this promising thriller to be developed as much as possible. For the scenario, the series will come straight from the mind of Derek Haas, notably screenwriter of Chicago Firea drama series, more than 250 episodes long, which tells the story of life in a fire station.

Ordered for 2025, the series should begin filming this year, in order to be broadcast on Amazon Prime Video next year. Waiting for, If you want to see Jensen Ackles in a role again, the series Gen V and The Boys are still available on the Amazon platform. Season 4 of the latter is fast approaching, as we told you about in this selection of films and series to watch on Prime Video in June.
