No Man’s Sky PS5 Pro update, new details on cross-save support – PlayStation Blog in French

Bonjour,

This year has been particularly busy for No Man’s Skywith 6 updates released this year alone, including the major Worlds update. Our latest update, The Cursedwas released a few weeks ago and players loved the spooky Halloween atmosphere.

In video game development, some features can take weeks or months, while others can take years. Today, we are releasing some features that have been in the works for years.

PlayStation 5 Pro

The PlayStation 5 Pro is released today and it’s an incredible feat of engineering. We were so happy to get our hands on it since the early days of development. We couldn’t wait to see what was possible in No Man’s Sky with so much power at our disposal!

We’re excited to be able to bring an enhanced version of No Man’s Sky for PlayStation 5 Pro to players upon release. This version offers even more detail and higher image quality than was previously possible on console.

PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) provides incredible upscaling for a 4K experience at 60 fps. No Man’s Sky will also be one of the first to support 8K resolution, with a stunning universe in 8K at 30 fps.

In addition to clearer resolution and a higher frame rate, the added power of the PlayStation 5 Pro has allowed us to improve graphics quality on all edges. Players on PlayStation 5 Pro will be able to see better lighting, with higher quality reflections and ambient occlusion. Explore the most beautiful and detailed alien worlds No Man’s Sky has to offer, for the first time on console.

On top of that, these improvements will also be available on PS VR2! Enjoy our most beautiful graphics in virtual reality, offering an even more immersive experience for Travelers among the stars.

Cross-save

Starting today, cross-saving will be available on all platforms. This has been a long task and one of the most requested features.

No Man’s Sky now supports cross-play and cross-save between a wide range of platforms, including latest and current generation consoles (including PlayStation 5 Pro – see above), as well as PS VR and PS VR 2.

Adding the ability to transfer saves between different platforms via a server was no small feat for No Man’s Sky, as the workload increased with each supported platform, as did each player’s play time. Both of these numbers are high for our small team.

It’s common for players to accumulate thousands of hours of save time exploring space, building complex bases, and recording their every discovery, with incredibly detailed save files. Adding cross-save for us was a bit like moving; The longer a person has lived in a place, the harder it is to get them to change! We have players who played once when the game first came out eight years ago and suddenly load a save file onto a platform that didn’t even exist at the time.

The is back

Everyone at Hello Games is a science fiction fan. One of our favorite series is the incredible Mass Effect. To join the annual N7 celebrations, we are happy to welcome the legendary SSV Normandy SR1 to No Man’s Sky!

It was in 2021 that the Normandy made its first appearance in one of the first expeditions we organized. The limited-time event ended with players being able to add the Normandy to their fleet.

In the years following this event, we welcomed many Travelers. Many players envied those who proudly displayed the Normandy in their collections.

Mass Effect fans know that this famous ship only appears when it’s needed most! Today, and for the next two weeks, as a love letter from one sci-fi game to another, we’re giving everyone another chance to encounter the Normandy in a revamped version of the mission original and add it to your collection.

Many thanks to our friends at Electronic Arts and BioWare for helping us make this possible. We’ve had a monumental year with No Man’s Sky. We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue this adventure with you.
