In the courtroom of the “major trials”, everyone holds their breath while the investigator from the Anti-Terrorism Sub-Directorate, identified under the number “Sdat259” and who speaks by videoconference, describes the circumstances of the “attack on “very great violence” from the history-geography professor at the Bois d’Aulne college in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine (Yvelines).
The investigator reports that a witness heard Anzorov shout: “He insulted the prophet!” » by murdering the professor. Before walking away, he takes a photo of the decapitated head. On the screens in the courtroom, attended by Samuel Paty’s sisters, images of the kitchen knife, stained with blood, which was used to stab and decapitate the teacher, are projected.
14 plagues
Abandoned by the assailant after his crime and found in a gutter, “in the middle of dead leaves”, about thirty meters from the body of Samuel Paty, this knife has a total length of 35 cm and has a blade 19 cm by 4.5 cm thick. The autopsy revealed 14 stab wounds on the professor’s body, notes Sdat259. “The decapitation took place just before or just after death, without this being able to be determined,” while Samuel Paty was on the ground, he specifies.
The court projects a photo of the professor’s body, “stomach against the ground”, “the head separated from the body”, “to the left of the body”. Images of the professor’s clothes, covered in blood, are also broadcast. In the professor’s backpack, investigators notably discovered a hammer. “This reveals the state of fear in which Samuel Paty could have found himself. It was a potential defense weapon,” comments Sdat259.
Eight people tried
The police quickly intervened. “With his hands reddened” by the victim’s blood, Anzorov fired several times at the police officers with a semi-automatic air-pressurized handgun before being shot dead. “Nine passages of ballistic projectiles were noted on the body of Abdoullakh Anzorov, five of which were found in his body,” indicates Sdat259.
