Natalie Portman: her ex found love again, she reacts

It’s never nice to learn that your ex has started a new life with someone else. But the fact that Benjamin Millepied is in a relationship again does not seem to raise eyebrows for Natalie Portman. Just seven months after their divorce, the 47-year-old professional dancer and choreographer was spotted kissing a mysterious woman in the streets of Paris on October 15.
Benjamin Millepied unfaithful?
As a reminder, American actress Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied met in 2010 on the set of Black Swan. They formalized their divorce in March 2024, after 11 years of marriage. Together, the couple had two children: Aleph (13 years old) and Amalia (7 years old).
A few months before their separation, rumors had emerged about possible infidelity. For example, Benjamin Millepied was attributed with an affair with climate activist Camille Etienne. According to several American magazines, Natalie Portman would have (unsurprisingly) taken these rumors badly and would have felt “humiliated and completely crushed by Benjamin’s behavior”.
Natalie Portman indifferent
No wonder, then, that her ex-husband’s new relationship doesn’t reach her. “Natalie isn’t surprised that Benjamin moved on because of the way their relationship ended. She thought he would move on pretty quickly,” an anonymous source revealed to the tabloid US Weekly. “She hopes Benjamin is happy.” “Benjamin’s love life doesn’t really impact Natalie,” a second source confirmed. “She is very happy in her life right now and is putting her family and friends first.”
The Black Swan actress seems more than happy. “Sexuality is better at 40!” she testified without filter in Jameela Jamil’s podcast at the end of October. Natalie Portman notably feels liberated from the strong sexualization that she has suffered since the start of her career in the 90s (she made her film debut in 1993, at the age of 12, in the film Léon de Luc Besson). “Now I no longer feel frankly sexualized by others. It’s liberating today to be forty for me to no longer feel this pressure on me, which is like a threat…”, said she rejoices in the podcast.
Unlike Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones), who is “super sad” about her divorce from Joe Jonas, Natalie Portman seems to have moved on. For her, being comfortable with her body, her sexuality, and herself, comes down to “developing something creative, self-expression,” she testified during the podcast. Since her divorce, it seems that the actress has rediscovered a breath of freedom.
