He then continued with the Waterloo tournament: “This didn’t go well. It was very hot, everyone complained about the playing conditions. I didn’t perform poorly, that’s the main thing.“
He again competed in the elimination phase of the provincial criterion. “I won all the matches in my group, notably against Valentin Laroche and Gérard Grandjean (B4). I am qualified for the final phase which will offer a place for the Belgian championships to the winner.“
Last Sunday, Geoffrey Levêque was entered in the Tubize B criterium. “I lost only one set on the day, against Bernard Lemal (B4). The rest, I won all the other matches in three sets. In particular, I beat Vincent Lambillotte, my teammate in Braine-l’Alleud. It’s a big B2 and will go up B0. He is also having a great season.“
In national 1 this weekend
Geoffrey Levêque also has the ambition to climb B0 at the end of the season: “I occupy 83rd place in the national ranking without counting the results of the Tubize criterium. I have to get into the top 75 to move up the rankings. I’m at the border“, he smiles.
The coming weekend, he will play with the first team of CTT Braine-l’Alleud in national 1 against Astrid Herstal. “I will meet two B0s and two B2s. If I perform well, I will be able to accumulate points. The two B2s are undoubtedly better ranked than me in the ranking, there are probably few B2s who have a lower ranking than me in national 1. Each victory would therefore represent good progress.“
