The decline in supply is already struggling to meet demand from integrators and export markets. Commercial activity is much more fluid with prices better defended across all categories of calves. Price levels are €50 to €80 above last year. Suitable prim’holsteins and Normans of 50-55 kg for integration are negotiated from 120 to 140 €, or even 160 € for the heaviest. Subjects weighing 45-50 kg are sold from 100 to 120 €. Large calves for export are negotiated between €160 and €180 for blacks and €300 to €330 for Montbéliards.
In the field of crusaders, the offer is also shrinking, which leads to better price performance with significantly less severe sorting. Good calves, on the other hand, are easier to market even if prices have not changed. Light mole males are sold between €120 and €200, rising to between €220 and €280 for the heavier ones. The prices of mole females are based on those of ordinary dairy calves, between €100 and €180. Prices for white blue or yellow R crossbred males range from €150 to €250 for the light ones and €250 to €350 for the heavy R ones. The heavy white-blue females go to Spain for prices between 200 and 250 €. Good crosses/Montbéliards or white blues of U conformation are sold between €400 and €470, or even €500 to €520 for superiors.
For Limousins, the supply tends to fall, which facilitates trade. The prices for good Limousin males are between €480 and €580 for U depending on weight and €600 to €650 for E.
