During the night of Wednesday to Thursday, November 7, armed men shot at a convenience store, in the Arnavaux district of Marseille (15th), before burning it down.
The fire spread quickly, forcing theevacuation of residents of the building.
The targeted supermarket
Around 2 a.m., men hooded and heavily armed fired several times at the front of the convenience store, before launching a incendiary device inside. Alerted by the sound of the explosions and seeing the first flames, a neighbor immediately notified the police.
Of the sockets caliber 7.62 mm and shotgun cartridges were found on site, according to our colleagues from Figaro.
Eight people evacuated
If the 35m2 business was completely destroyed, the Marseille firefighters managed to control the fire which extended to the 1st floor of the building. In total, eight people were evacuated from the building, including a 41-year-old woman, who was hospitalized for observation after inhaling smoke, the firefighters confirmed Marseille news.
After setting fire to the premises, the individuals, still actively researchallegedly fled in a vehicle.
