Injured in the head and arm, the victim was transported to Nantes University Hospital.
The violent altercation took place in Gétigné, near Nantes (Loire-Atlantique), this Tuesday, November 5. While he was taking his daily walk, an octogenarian was surprised by a motorcycle which suddenly passed near him. According to witnesses cited by Le Figaro, the old man then railed against the biker, who turned around. The latter then grabbed the octogenarian's cane and beat him, before leaving.

Further on, the motorcyclist had a road accident. In a daze, he confided to the firefighters who came to rescue him that he had just attacked an elderly person. Alerted, the gendarmerie arrested the man a few minutes later. He was under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Aged around thirty and living in Maine-et-Loire, he was then indicted for “attempted murder” and placed in pre-trial detention. An investigation to shed light on the exact circumstances of the attack.
The octogenarian was transported, with a bloody face, to the Nantes University Hospital. He emerged this Wednesday with a 50-day Temporary Work Interruption (ITT).
