It was exactly 40 years ago. On November 4, 1984, viewers discovered a new channel. The first paid, Canal+. Five days later, football fans could finally watch a La Liga Division 1 match live, with the very first poster broadcast on Canal, -Monaco (1-0), at the Beaujoire stadium. In the comments alongside Charles Biétry, the journalist and future sports director of the encrypted channel, Michel Denisot. From this historic match to his appointment as deputy president of PSG in 1991, Berrichon has forgotten nothing. As Canal celebrates its 40th anniversary a few months after cutting the cord with Ligue 1, the former presenter of Grand Journal looks back for RMC Sport (and without nostalgia) on a first decade rich in innovations and emotions.
