Between MR and Engagés, a lot of convergence for Wallonia, but divergences on health care

The two parties are called upon to form a bipartisanship to lead Wallonia. But are they really compatible?

IIt did not take long for the pieces of the puzzle to fit together between the MR and Les Engagés, the most likely coalition in Wallonia since the two victorious presidents this Sunday agreed on the noon time this Monday. Both Georges-Louis Bouchez and Maxime Prévot, like Sophie Wilmès, confirmed that there was convergence between the two political parties. “I have never made a secret of the fact that we had a great programmatic proximity with Les Engagés and that is good, it is also the signal from the voter”, recognized the president of the MR who added that the results “allowed for majorities with few parties and homogeneity. Maxime Prévot admitted “wanting to respect the voters’ signal”. With 43 seats, this two-party party has a comfortable majority (which also allows it to be certain of obtaining a majority in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation).
