Thierno Barry, a name that may not resonate with RC supporters, is nevertheless well known at Villarreal. At just 22 years old, he has already played 15 games this season, scoring 11 goals. His adventure took a turn in May 2022, during a friendly match between the Racing Club de Lens reserve and Calcio Padova, where Barry found the net.

This young striker, originally from , was then on trial, his contract with FC Sochaux-Montbéliard coming to an end. Accompanied by Lucas Marin and Daniel Mbonu, he sought to find a place in professional football. Two years later, he played for Villarreal CF in the Spanish Liga, after spending time with FC Basel.

At FC Basel, Barry started the season with four games and eight goals to his name before joining Villarreal for €14 million. Since then, he has played 11 matches, scored three goals and offered two assists in 719 minutes of play. An impressive career for this Franco-Guinean who is turning heads in Spain.

Before shining in La Liga, Thierno Barry tried his luck in the Belgian second division with SK Beveren. His 2022-2023 season was prolific there, with 14 goals scored. These performances attracted the attention of FC Basel, who recruited him for 3 million euros in the summer of 2023.

The Swiss club's investment paid off, with Barry finishing the 2023-2024 season with 12 goals and 5 assists in all competitions. This rapid progression underlines the talent of the attacker and his potential to establish himself among the big names in European football.
