Taha Oualidat, a young Moroccan arrested in Geneva (Switzerland) and extradited to France this week, was indicted for the murder and rape of Philippine, whose body was found summarily buried in the Bois de Boulogne, in Paris.
Philippine, 19, student at Paris-Dauphine, was passing through the Bois de Boulogne. She was found dead on September 21. But witnesses saw a man passing by carrying a tool… Taha Oualidat, 22, had been convicted of rape in 2021, released in June 24, placed in a detention center in Metz because he was under obligation to leave French territory, and placed under house arrest in Yonne where he never went.
On remand
Registered in the wanted persons file, he was spotted on September 24 crossing the border into Switzerland then arrested in Geneva. Handed over to French justice, he was indicted for “murder” and “repeated rape” then placed in pre-trial detention. This does not mean he is guilty. The criminal court is waiting for him. he faces life imprisonment.
