This dynamic is particularly visible in the municipality of Castelnaudary alone. where prices increase by 13.1% . The median price is €143,600 for an old house in the cassoulet capital of the world.

For comparison, among Aude cities of roughly equivalent size, we note that median prices also rise to Lézignan-Corbières(+ 2.9%) to reach €156,000. On the other hand, they fell by 11.1% to Limoux . There, the median price for an old house is €130,700.

…but a drop in Lauragais Audois

Further around Castelnaudary, in the communes of Lauragais Audois, the Chamber of Notaries notes an 8.8% drop in prices of old houses with a median value of €141,500.

That of a property of the same type in the town of Bram in 2024 is €136,000, a decrease of 7.4% compared to 2023.

Building land

Transactions concerning building land of the department, they too in sharp decline (-37%), numbered 690 in the space of one year.
