We can no longer stop the Brest sensation. Surprise team at the start of the Champions League, Stade Brestois scored another victory by winning against Sparta Prague (1-2), Wednesday November 6, its third in four matches. With 10 points, the Bretons occupy fourth place in the League phase and are already very close to qualifying for the final phase.
Éric Roy's men showed a conquering face in this meeting. After a good start to the match with control of the ball, Brest were rewarded before the break, thanks to a victorious volley from Edimilson Fernandes (37th), following a corner. While remaining solid defensively, Pierre Lees-Melou's teammates continued to attack and managed to score a second goal thanks to Kaan Kairinen (80th), an unfortunate scorer against his side. In the final moments of the game, Prague reduced the score thanks to Victor Olatunji (90th+2).
For their first participation in the Champions League, the Bretons remain undefeated. Better yet, with now 10 points on the clock, Stade Brestois is almost qualified for the final phase. The next trip, however, promises to be more delicate, in three weeks, on the pitch of FC Barcelona.
