It is with great pride that Machinex won, on October 16, the “Innovator of the Year” award awarded by the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA), as well as the “innovation and environmental protection” during the EnviroLys Gala, held on November 4.

These two distinctions highlight the company’s significant contribution to the green economy, both in Quebec and internationally, and recognize its technological innovations.

The project

The project highlighted by these two awards is that of Sherbourne Resource Park, the smart sorting center in Coventry, United Kingdom. This project is an exceptional innovation for the recycling industry on a global scale, proudly carried out by a Quebec company.

Designed and manufactured in Plessisville, this sorting center stands out for achieving the highest level of purity of recyclable materials ever produced to date, as well as for its extraordinary level of automation for such a volume of materials. As a result, a better rate of recovery of materials which allows them to be sold locally and thus participate in the circular economy.

Les NWRA Awards

The National Waste and Recycling Association (NWRA), the leading voice for the North American waste and recycling industry, honored Machinex with the “Innovator of the Year” award.

This award is given among all recycling equipment designers and manufacturers in North America, recognizing Machinex’s innovation in designing and manufacturing technologies to improve the efficiency of recycling operations, while pushing back against current industry standards.

The EnviroLys Gala

Organized by CETEQ (Quebec Environmental Technology Business Council), this gala highlights the contribution of private companies to Quebec’s green economy. The “innovation and environmental protection” prize was awarded to Machinex, as a Quebec company having developed an innovative approach and a new technology with notable positive effects on the environment.
