First Ukrainian attack on Russian Caspian fleet appears to have failed

DECRYPTION – Geolocated videos confirm that two drones attacked Russian ships in this closed sea located more than 1000 km from the Ukrainian border, but without hitting a target.

The Ukrainians, increasingly in difficulty on land, are trying to push their advantage at sea, even to the distant shores of the Caspian. Since the start of the war and particularly since the spectacular destruction of the cruiser Moscow in April 2022, kyiv implements a bold naval guerrilla strategy against Russian ships in the Black Sea, which borders southern Ukraine. To date, more than 20% of the ships in this fleet have been damaged or destroyed, according to a count made by Le Figaro.

Previously too hastily described as a Russian lake, the Black Sea is becoming perilous for the hulls struck with the red star, who were forced to leave Sevastopol in Crimea to take refuge in the south of the Pontic area, near Georgia. But now, the Ukrainians are going even further: “For the first time, drones [aériens, NDLR] explosives (…) hit enemy ships in the Caspian Sea”said…
