The City of Montreal and the Association of Contemporary Art Galleries (AGAC) today revealed the finalists for the Pierre-Ayot Prize and the Louis-Comtois Prize. Thank you to the artists who submitted their applications to the competition and our congratulations to the selected artists!
The winners will be revealed during a ceremony on Wednesday, November 27 at 6 p.m. The City and AGAC invite the public to attend the awards ceremony which will be held at the Chaufferie du Cœur des sciences at UQAM. Please reserve your place by following the link at the bottom of the press release.

Louis-Comtois Prize: the finalists
A jury composed of professionals from the visual arts sector selected the applications of Kelly Jazvac, Yann Pocreau and Joseph Tisiga for the Louis-Comtois Prize intended for mid-career contemporary art artists.
The Louis Comtois Prize aims to consolidate the recognition of an artist in mid-career and to highlight the quality of his production in contemporary art over the last 15 years in Montreal. The Prize is accompanied by a grant of $7,500 and an exhibition fee of $2,500 for the organization of an individual exhibition in Montreal. The City of Montreal also acquires a work by the winner for the Municipal Collection of Works of Art.
Pierre-Ayote Prize: the finalists
For the Pierre-Ayot Prize, awarded to an artist at the start of their career, the finalists are Laïla Mestari, Fatine-Violette Sabiri and Michaëlle Sergile.
The Pierre Ayot Prize aims to support and promote the excellence of new creation in visual arts in Montreal, to encourage the diffusion of young Montreal artists and to recognize the efforts of the presenters who present their works. A scholarship of $5,000 and an exhibition fee of $2,500 for the organization of an individual exhibition in Montreal are offered to the winner. The City of Montreal also acquired a work for its collection.
