Gallant to Israeli generals: “Stay true to your moral values”
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant today addressed the Army General Staff in a farewell meeting, attended by Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi. In a landmark speech, he spoke of the IDF’s evolution from the dark hours of October 7 to today’s “unprecedented achievements.”
“I have seen your resilience after the failure of October 7 and your impressive recovery. In this seven-front war, from Tehran to Gaza, we have changed the balance of power in the Middle East,” Gallant said. He particularly emphasized the importance of maintaining the moral values of the military: “When the winds blow hard and darkness reigns, stay true to your moral and ethical compass.” The minister also stressed the need to broaden Israeli society’s participation in the defense effort, while reaffirming commitment to the return of hostages and support for bereaved families and the injured.
