This is not the first time that the Association for the Protection of Lake Geneva has found laughing gas canisters at the bottom of Lake Geneva.

As reported by our colleagues from La Tribune de Genève, 77 bottles of nitrous oxide, each measuring 30 centimeters long, were recovered by the association on Saturday.

Used to party

The association notes that laughing gas is often used for recreational purposes in party venues. These cylinders also remain dangerous for the environment by weakening and disrupting the ecosystem of the lake water.

« From an environmental point of view, these metal and plastic bottles pollute, and from a public health point of view, the presence of this new waste in large quantities in the lake testifies to greater consumption in Geneva. » indicates the general secretary of the association.
