Major Christophe Targe knows the Mauges territory (Maine-et-) well. He moved there in October 2018, during a transfer to the Sèvremoine brigade. In 2020, he took up the position of chief warrant officer at the Beaupréau-en-Mauges brigade.

Thirty-two years of career

This Tuesday, November 5, the assumption of command ceremony took place. In front of his teams, the elected officials, the squadron leader of the gendarmerie, Meryl Baltayan, and the sub-prefect of Cholet, Corinne Minot, the 52-year-old major therefore officially took up his duties.

Coming from a family of gendarmes, Christophe Targe, originally from , joined the gendarmerie school in Montluçon (Allier) in 1993. “I first worked in Isère, then in Poitou-Charentes and Guadeloupe, before arriving in Mauges. I’ve been in the business for 32 years,” he counts.

Among his many missions, the major cites in particular the commitment to the fight against domestic violence and for road safety.
