Thursday evening, a shooting perpetrated in front of a nightclub in Saint-Péray (Ardèche) cost the life of a 22-year-old young man, named Nicolas. According to information from Europe 1, an individual, suspected of being the author of several shootings in front of the establishment, was arrested by the BAC Nord this Monday in Marseille. Aged 23 and born in Tunisia, he is not registered with the TAJ (processing of criminal records). He was taken into police custody in the Marseille city, while his driver, a 20-year-old man born in Italy, was also arrested.
The events took place in front of the “Le Seven” nightclub around 2:30 a.m. While attending a Halloween party, the young man was fatally shot by a bullet fired from the parking lot of the establishment by a hooded individual.
The sad memory of Crépol
This drama brought to the surface that of Crépol (Drôme) a year ago. On November 19, 2023, while a village festival was being held in this town located near Valence, Thomas, 16, died of several stab wounds, administered during a brawl involving young people from a sensitive neighborhood. Nicolas and Thomas also attended the same rugby club in Romans-sur-Isère (Drôme).
“It's been a year since we lost Thomas, and almost a year later, we've lost a new youngster from the club. We're going to have to be strong again and take responsibility for the players, for our family, for all our friends, and do face, as best as possible”, the co-president of the club told us. A tribute will be paid to him in the coming days.
This murder, which could be linked to drug trafficking, is part of a spiral of violence that occurred throughout the All Saints' Day weekend. On Saturday, in Poitiers, a 15-year-old young man lost his life after receiving a stray bullet the day before. On the night of October 31 to November 1, another young man was killed in front of a nightclub in Bernolsheim (Bas-Rhin) and this Monday, a fight broke out in the RER E in Ozoir-la-Ferrière (Seine- et-Marne) seriously injuring two people.
