It is election day and may also be the first day of a long sequence of recounts and counting. In the United States, voting intentions are so close and the polls so similar that no one is able to say who, Kamala Harris or Donald Trump, will win at the end of this presidential vote. Elections which also include a whole list of local ballots and other referendums and which take place according to such specific rules that the candidate who comes out on top can still lose the election. This is the system of electoral votes per state. In addition, each camp, particularly the Republicans, some of whom still contest Donald Trump's defeat in 2020, stands ready to contest possible irregularities. It is not certain that this Wednesday we will already know the name of the winner. And yet, there is a world of difference between the America proposed by Donald Trump and that promoted by Kamala Harris. A world that American voters who have not voted in advance will choose this Tuesday, in polling stations whose operation is also complex.
