On the night of Thursday October 31 to Friday November 1, a shooting broke out in front of a nightclub near Valence (Drôme). Aged 22, the young man from Romans-sur-Isère was shot in the head and transported in absolute emergency to the Valence hospital center with a life-threatening prognosis. This Saturday, Nicolas Dumas “died early in the afternoon”the Privas prosecutor’s office said. Two other people, more lightly injured, remained hospitalized. This shooting is believed to be linked to drug trafficking.
According to information from BFM Marseille Provence, a man was arrested in the Marseille city as part of this investigation. The individual was arrested by the BAC Nord, around 6 p.m., while he was sitting on a chair, at a deal point in the Bricarde district, in the 15th arrondissement of the Marseille city. The investigators had information that he had taken refuge in this city. He is currently being questioned by law enforcement. He is from Italy and is not registered with the TAJ (processing of criminal records), added RTL.

The Rugby Club Romans-Péage (RCRP), of which the deceased young man was a member, paid tribute to him on its Facebook page, saying “annihilated again” by this death “in terrible circumstances”. It was also within the RCRP that young Thomas played, killed during a ball in Crépol in November 2023. The club will also organize a white march in tribute to Nicolas. It will take place on Wednesday afternoon.
