This Tuesday, Real Madrid hosts AC Milan on the 4th day of the Champions League. Vinicius is expected to play his first match since not being awarded the Ballon d'Or. How does the Brazilian feel? Carlo Ancelotti spoke to the press.
Last Monday, October 28, to everyone's surprise, Vinicius did not win the Ballon d'Or, awarded to Rodri, defensive midfielder for Manchester City. A disillusionment for the Real Madrid striker who was announced as the winner almost everywhere before the 68th Ceremony.
This Tuesday, Vini will be back, with Real Madrid against AC Milan in the Champions League (9:00 p.m.). How does number 7 at Casa Blanca feel? Carlo Ancelotti responds.
“Vinicius is sad, like all of us, but not because of the Ballon d'Or. He is saddened by what he sees in Valencia” describes Ancelotti in reference to the meteorological drama which is taking place in the south of Spain, and which notably prevented the meeting between Valencia and Real Madrid from taking place.
“The Ballon d'Or has been awarded, congratulations to those who won it and that's it. Vinicius trained well, like everyone else.” concludes the Italian about his winger, who will undoubtedly be keen to show off in the Champions League on Tuesday.
For his part, Carlo Ancelotti received the title of best coach of the year 2024 during the Ceremony at the Théâtre du Châtelet. A reward of which the coach is proud, but which is not worth another trophy if we take his statements.
“I'm happy, the Ballon d'Or has already passed and we must congratulate all the winners. My Ballon d'Or was on June 1 when we won the Champions League.”
