More and more 5G users
5G continues to progress! Indeed, according to the latest Arcep Observatory, it has reached a new milestone by passing 18.5 million SIM cards connected to 5G. A figure that breaks a growth record since the number of SIM cards connected to 5G increased by 7.8 million in one year.
Today, 5G subscribers represent 22% of the total subscriber baseor almost a quarter of mobile subscribers! This clear annual increase allows us to make a fairly clear observation: 5G is becoming more and more attractive and this is anything but a coincidence: more and more 5G antennas are being deployed throughout the country and subscriptions to the 5G network are increasingly competitive.
Orange takes the lead after a few months alongside Bouygues Telecom
131 Mb/s. This is the average speed that users of the Orange Mobile network were able to benefit in November 2024 according to our Flow Barometer. In one year, this is the fastest flow rate ever achieved! Users of the Orange network (including YouPrice and Sosh) were thus able to benefit from much faster mobile performance than those offered by the incumbent operator's competitors, according to the figures recorded by our throughput test.
And it was also in November that Orange clearly established itself as the fastest mobile network since it left Bouygues Telecom behind, the operator with whom it competed for first place last month (122 Mb/ s for Orange in November compared to 121 for Bouygues Telecom).
Even if Bouygues Telecom does not stand out with its 112 Mb/s average, Orange is clearly above it!
And what about SFR and Free? The two operators are neck and neck with rather similar 4G/5G speeds. Free is placed in third position with a speed of 99 Mb/s, just below 100 Mb/s.
It is SFR which closes the ranking with an average 4G/5G speed of 93 Mb/s, not very far from Free but not enough to take a place on the podium.
Orange 5G: ever more accessible thanks to YouPrice
On the Orange network, Sosh no longer reigns supreme! A new kid is gradually gaining ground: YouPrice. The MVNO is in fact the specialist in inexpensive subscriptions with really competitive offersavailable on the Orange or SFR network.
At this moment, he even realizes the feat of offering a subscription with 150 GB of data on the 5G network for less than €10/month.
