Spain is going through dramatic times. For several days, the south-east of the country and the Valencia region have been plagued by violent rains and floods. The human toll is already very high: 217 dead and many missing. New warnings for heavy rainfall have been issued by the authorities.

After the cancellation of the Valencia – Real Madrid match in La Liga, the Valencia club expressed the wish to postpone its entry into the Copa del Rey. The club is opposed to Parla Escuela, a semi-pro club from the suburbs of Madrid. The meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, November 6 at 7 p.m.

“At this time of great difficulty, all energy, attention and support must be focused on helping those affected by the tragic event. Football is in the background »said the club in a press release.

The request for postponement should be accepted, while the Spanish authorities have already been criticized for not having postponed the entire La Liga matchday last weekend. Furthermore, the Valencia motorcycle GP, scheduled for November 17, will be relocated to Barcelona.
