Ligue 1 – OM relaunch against Nantes at La Beaujoire (2-1)

After the rout suffered against PSG, OM absolutely had to relaunch against , at La Beaujoire. For the occasion, Roberto De Zerbi made several changes to his standard team. Quentin Merlin and Pol Lirola were notably established: Rulli – Lirola, Kondogbia, Balerdi (c), Merlin – Rabiot, Hojbjerg, Koné – Greenwood, Rowe – Maupay.

Determined, the Olympians entered the match with their feet on the ground, seizing the ball for a long time. Greenwood quickly came up against Lafont (7th), while Cozza intervened in front of Maupay (18th). It was ultimately the former player who allowed OM to open the scoring. The attacker emerged to take over and tackle the ball on a strong cross from Rowe (1-0, 24th).

The Marseillais continued their outrageous domination (79% possession) and hit the crossbar on a Merlin corner deflected by a Nantes player (29th). But the people of Nantes recovered. Kadewere managed to equalize on one of the rare counterattacks, after a first action stopped by Rulli (35th). The Nantes player escaped Balerdi's marking to take a cross from Coco (1-1, 39th). The two teams were therefore tied at the break.

Found, Greenwood frees the Olympians

OM returned from the locker room with some doubts. And if he got chances, the Nantes people also knew how to be dangerous on the counterattack. Luis Henrique and Murillo replaced Koné and Merlin. It was ultimately Greenwood who allowed the Phocaeans to regain the advantage. The Englishman eliminated a player and placed a surgical low strike with his left foot. The ball hit the post before entering Lafont's goal (2-1, 61st).

The Canaries were not dead, however. Rulli had to use his head to stop the Nantais (64th), then Kadewere missed the equalizer after an error from Kondogbia (67th). Cornelius and Brassier came on in place of Lirola and Rowe. Rabiot found the post with a shot from the right, after a serve from Greenwood. The ball unfortunately came out (84th). Cornelius came out on a stretcher holding his ribs, Rongier replaced him (86th). The Marseillais controlled until the end of the match and achieved a significant success.

OM displayed impressive possession of the ball on the Nantes pitch (76%). If everything is not perfect, success should be good for the mind and allow you to work calmly in the coming days. Roberto De Zerbi's team is in 2nd place in the championship, tied with Monaco. Enough to (at least temporarily) silence the critics.
