The Ville de Falaise continues its action in favor of soft mobilitywith the recent installation of a bicycle rack in front of the Bodereau school and a bicycle shelter installed at the back of the Forum for a while now, making it available to cyclists young and old.

The goal is to make it easier to get to school or to the show by bike. These actions are part of the bicycle plan established by the working group in 2021.

“The idea is to favor parking lots with shelter for places where we are supposed to stay for more than an hour, or even two hours.” Sandrine Petit, deputy mayor of Falaise, delegate for eco-mobility, eco-responsible cleanliness, and the living environment.

Targeted schools

“We first chose the Forum. Schools have been targeted: a shelter has been made internally at La Crosse school and another is expected to arrive at Bodereau school.

In our plans, we also plan to install one at the Guibray stadium, for the tennis club, and with an expansion of our offer on Place Belle-.

Likewise, at Bianco, shade structures (with voltaic panels) are planned over the parking lot. We had also thought about the cinema but we moderated it due to the project to build a second theater in another location. »

An investment of €10,000

Likewise, for a future mandate, a bicycle shelter could be created near the bus shelter “so that people who take the bus and come by bike can have a closed shelter at their disposal, and then Place des Bercagnes , as part of cycle tourism, for visitors, and why not with a charging station for electric bikes. »

Beyond these sheltered parking areas in the city, you can lock up your bike in different places, such as in front of the cinema, in front of the media library, Place Belle-Croix, at the socio-cultural center and at the youth room, Place Reine Mathilde, at the gymnasium. Bianco, behind the Mandela building and for UIA.

This represents an investment of €10,000, with a 40% subsidy for the Alvéole plus program (bicycle parking).
