Manchester United / Chelsea: pre-match, statements and probable line-ups

Big shock coming this Sunday in the Premier League! Indeed, Manchester United hosts Chelsea at Old Trafford. Despite their different positions in the standings, these two teams will aim to win.

Several Premier League matches will be on display this Sunday, including a clash between Manchester United and Chelseawhich will be played at 5:30 p.m. at Old Trafford, as part of the 10th day. Erik ten Hag is no longer on the Manchester United bench as he was fired a few days ago. Currently, Ruud Van Nistelrooy is acting as interim manager. He performed well in his first match on the bench and his players won against Leicester in the Carabao Cup. But from November 11, it is Ruben Amorim, current coach of Sporting, who will take over. In the meantime, Ruud Van Nistelrooy will do his best to help Manchester United win as many matches and points as possible, in order to catch up in the standings.

Chelsea are much higher ranked, but have had a difficult week, following their defeat to Newcastle United and elimination from the Carabao Cup. The objective of Enzo Maresca's Blues will therefore be to pull themselves together and focus again on the Premier League, by winning during this trip.

Pre-match statements:

????️ Ruud Van Nistelrooy (Manchester United) : « Chelsea are playing very well at the moment. Lots of offensive players who can decide the match, who score a lot of goals, who play the ball very well. So we will have to give the best of ourselves to get a result, to have a good match. This is obviously what we want. We want to try to win. But we also respect the opponent, we know their qualities and we know what we have to do. Yes, we really need to be together and strong, you know, to stop them. And from there we will see what we can do to win the match. »

????️ Enzo Maresca (Chelsea): « Old Trafford is one of the most intimidating stadiums in Europe and the world, like Anfield in Italy, it's like San Siro or Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spain, these are stadiums that are very intimidating. I played it twice and I was very young. I played against Paul Scholes, Roy Keane and Veron. We played a few weeks ago at Anfield and the performance was there, but I don't think the players felt that kind of intimidation. I hope it will be the same on Sunday. »
