The editorial staff West France de Mayenne is producing a series of articles on the N12. This road which crosses the north of the department connects Paris to Brittany. It is used daily by thousands of heavy goods vehicles and cars.
As part of a future article on the dangerousness of this road, we are looking for user testimonials.
Many accidents
The RN12 has been the scene of numerous accidents over the years. In 2004, West France wrote: “The national 12, which links Ernée to Pré-en-Pail via Mayenne, is the most dangerous road in the department: between 1998 and 2003, more than 100 serious accidents occurred along these 75 km of asphalt . »
In 2022, the National Interministerial Road Safety Observatory recorded nine accidents causing victims, including four fatal accidents (five people killed) on the N12, in Mayenne. For comparison, in the entire department, 148 accidents were recorded, causing 18 deaths.
