HAS Caen (Calvados), this hair salon East unique. Although it was one of the first to apply vegetable coloring and no longer has exclusivity in this niche, Salon 49, in the city center, remains the only one to practice “non-gendered prices”. “Risk-taking” pays off in Caen
This has been going on for five years. For the two hairdressers, “cutting hair is not a gender thing, but a people thing”. In 2013, when she took over the salon, Zoé was already wondering about gendered prices hair salons. ” It was nonsense to me. I would understand more than pricing based on the work to be provided. I started by degendering the prices of children's cuts, then I took the plunge for adults in 2019. It was a risk-taking that allowed me to stay true to my values.”
From €15 to €34 per cut
At Salon 49, the coupe is thus fixed at €34 for adults€30 for students. For children, prices decrease depending on age: from €15 for children under 5 years old to €25 for children under 13 years old. “The change was very well accepted,” swears Zoé. ” I have lots of customers Who came through activismwhether men or women. We are the only ones in Caen to offer gender-neutral prices. »
Fans of vegetable coloring
