The Brussels Ring experienced a real tragedy this Wednesday morning. A truck that overturned saw its driver lose his life.
This is Dirk Debecker. Aged 54, he died in an accident in the ring at Zaventem. However, the circumstances of the tragic accident still remain quite unclear.
Father of nine children and grandfather of three grandchildren, the Belgian from Huldenberg, on the outskirts of Brussels, leaves a large family in mourning.

To our colleagues at HLN, the director of the heavy goods vehicle company explains what she knows about the incident. “It took a while before we knew exactly what had happened. It was finally one of our other drivers who informed us that Dirk had been the victim of a terrible accident. For years he was a loyal driver to the company”.
Ingrid Kumps Agro praises the late driver of her company who was an exceptional worker. “He was one of the best drivers and a nice, friendly man. Nothing was ever too difficult for him. He thought with us about running the business and organizing everything. Just yesterday he was very proud because the work day had gone so well. We will be devastated by this tragic loss for a very long time. I don’t know if we will ever be able to overcome this ordeal.”
