Many people are still missing in Spain, as the human toll continues to rise following the deadly floods that hit the country.

Rescue operations continue. Three days after the deadly floods which hit the south-east of Spain, firefighters continue their search for victims, in the air and on the ground. The latest report from the authorities shows at least 205 deaths, most of them in the Valencia region.

2,200 soldiers were deployed to support firefighters, police and rescue workers, in order to locate possible survivors. They are clearing disaster areas, inspecting parking lots and pumping water from basements, fearing they will discover lifeless bodies caught up in the flood.

Dozens of people remain missing. Calls for witnesses are increasing and thermal drones are being used to find possible survivors. The long work of identifying the bodies has only just begun.
