New evening of urban violence in Rilleux-la-Pape (Rhône), in the metropolis of Lyon, this Friday, November 1, 2024. After the Halloween violence on Thursday evening, new events shook the town.
Two TCL buses set on fire
The violence broke out after 9 p.m. in the Velette district. According to our information, a group of around twenty individuals began throwing projectiles at TCL network buses.
The two public transport network vehicles were set on fire following avenue du Général Leclerc.
Residents panicked and evacuated from their building
The fires caused panic among several residents who witnessed the scenes of violence. A building located opposite the fire buses had to be evacuated. Residents were able to return to their homes before 11 p.m., according to our information.
An injured police officer, CRS sent to the scene
A national police officer was slightly injured in the face and treated in relative emergency. He was hospitalized.
The prefecture announces to Actu Lyon the sending of CRS to reinforce the site for the time it takes to calm the situation.
There was no arrest. The police have already arrested four minors Thursday evening. The town hall of Rilleux-la-Pape also announced the summons of responsible parents with a view to the possible suspension of municipal social assistance.
The prefect of Rhône Fabienne Buccio went to the site after 11 p.m., according to our information.
