A few days before the American presidential election, Washington announced this Friday, November 1, new military aid to Kyiv amounting to $425 million.

A new financial extension from Washington to Kyiv. The United States announced this Friday, November 1, military aid to Ukraine in the amount of $425 million. This new envelope, announced a few days before the American presidential election, includes anti-aircraft defense equipment, artillery ammunition, armored vehicles and anti-tank weapons, detailed the American Department of Defense in a press release.

These weapons will be taken directly from the existing stocks of the American army. Washington “will continue the work […] to meet Ukraine's urgent demands on the battlefield to defend itself against Russian aggression,” notes the Pentagon press release.

On Thursday, the United States said that up to 8,000 North Korean troops were preparing to fight in Ukraine “in the Kursk region”, in Russia, on the border with Ukraine. “We have not yet seen these troops deploy into combat against Ukrainian forces, but we expect this to happen in the coming days,” announced Secretary of State Blinken.

The United States is Kyiv's primary military supporter, with more than $60 billion in aid since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022.
