The gendarme first found a man on the ground floor, who told him that his wife was upstairs. Floor filled with smoke. With the two occupants sheltered, the gendarme called for help, removed five gas bottles from the home and moved an electric car to avoid any contact with the flames.

Firefighters from Saint-Pol-de-Léon and Morlaix brought the fire under control around 4:30 p.m. Two ladders were deployed. They left the scene at 6:30 p.m. The fire apparently started from a generator located in the extension. The two occupants, aged around sixty, are doing well.
