The Halloween holiday once again brings its share of alleged mischief in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in the regionHalifax warns the public after the discovery, Thursday evening, of a dozen cannabis joints and a razor blade in bags of treats given to children.
Investigators believe the cannabis came from a residence located on the promenade Ponderosa or the path Bluerockin the small community of Lake Echo. They believe the razor blade came from a house located on the promenade Taranaki has Westphalin the suburbs of Halifax.
The GRC in Nova Scotia is asking the public to exercise caution and carefully check Halloween treats. Other similar incidents have been reported in the past in the province and elsewhere in the country.

In Prince Edward Island, police and firefighters say they responded the day before and the day after Halloween to the scene of three abandoned houses in the west of the province.
Early Wednesday, an unoccupied residence in Skinners Pond was completely destroyed by the flames. Investigators believe it was a suspicious fire.
In the early hours of Friday, the GRC and the firefighters of Miminegash found evidence of attempts to start a fire in an abandoned house in Saint-Edward. About 40 minutes later, they discovered another attempted fire at an abandoned residence in St. Louis, two kilometers to the east.
In both cases, authorities say the arson attempts were successfully foiled and no one was injured. An investigation is underway.
This is not the first time suspicious fires have been reported in western Prince Edward Island in the run-up to Halloween.
