Twenty-first meeting of the Formula 1 season, the 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix began this Friday with free practice 1. Find the classification of this first session in São Paulo, on the Interlagos circuit.
The first – and only – free practice session for the 2024 Brazilian Grand Prix was dominated by Lando Norris, author of the best time during his final lap. The Briton completed the lap of the track in 1'10″610, even though he was completing his second lap at the wheel of his McLaren with the same set of soft tires.
The podium of these Free Practice 1 gave pride of place to British Formula 1 drivers, since Lando Norris beat the Mercedes of George Russell and the Haas of the surprising Oliver Bearman. The latter took advantage of the absence of Kevin Magnussen, who was ill, to temporarily obtain a steering wheel, and thus launched his Brazilian GP perfectly.
Much less success, however, for Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. On reserve, the Dutchman, leader in the F1 standings, cut his effort at the end of free practice when he could have achieved one of the best times. For his part, Lewis Hamilton complained of pain during the session, which he finished almost a second behind his teammate George Russell.

The words “Minnesota Miracle” and “No-Call” are erased from my vocabulary. My heart mourns the retirement of Drew Brees.
