“For families waiting, every day that goes by is one day too many. » The initiative brings together around thirty Israelis. The “Larnaca Hostages Race” is a marathon organized in the Cypriot city, scheduled for November 17. A race that “transcends borders, political divisions and beliefs, uniting humanity around a common cause”: the return of hostages held captive in the Gaza Strip.
“Each runner in this marathon has a face, a name and a story that is close to their heart,” say the organizers. Ziva, for example, will come from France to participate in the marathon. It will bear the face of Itay Chen, son of her childhood friend, murdered on October 7, 2023 and whose body is held hostage in the Gaza Strip. “She is running not only to honor his memory, but also to ensure that his story lives on and reaches those who have the power to make a difference.” »
The objective of the race is to continue to mobilize public opinion on the fate of the Hamas hostages. “Research shows that global causes with strong media support are far more likely to achieve change. Through common purpose, we can create momentum that resonates around the world. »
Organizers insist that you do not need to be in Larnaca to take part. “Help us make this message louder. Share it on social media with #BRINGTHEMHOME, write about the event, tell these stories and share them with those around you. Every post, every mention and every voice counts. Together we create the awareness needed to make them known. »
