Who and why? THE Local judicial police service -Slpj- investigating acts of vandalism committed on the night of Tuesday October 22 to Wednesday October 23, 2024, at .

Of the tags mysterious with the message “Ukraine needs your car” literally “Ukraine needs your car”, were traced in white, yellow and blue paint on forty-five vehicles parked in several adjoining neighborhoods.

Streets in the Boutonnet district in the Corum sector were particularly targeted by the nighttime journey of the vandal(s), having covered these numerous vehicles with graffitiwhich leads the police to believe that an organized commando was active.

Other actions

This operation recalls identical actions of support for Ukraine carried out in recent weeks in other large towns in the region, notably in Saint-Ouen, and . In one of these towns, Serbian nationals were arrested and taken into custody.

No claim was left with all these tags during the operation in Montpellier. Investigators are using the tapes of video protection cameras of the City of Montpellier and other surveillance systems which filmed this pacifist action. Most of the owners have filed a complaint against X and the investigations are supervised by the Montpellier public prosecutor's office.
