F-16 and NASAMS. Norway prepares new military aid package for Ukraine worth 500 million euros
Norway is preparing a new aid package of 500 million euros for Ukraine, which will include Western F-16 fighters and NASAMS air defense systems.
This was announced by Gennadiy Kovalenko, director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Defense, at the Kyiv Security Forum.
Kovalenko spoke about the visit of Norwegian Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram to Odessa. According to him, Ukrainian forces showed the minister a rehabilitation center for military personnel, border fortifications and explained the security situation.
“He highlighted Norway's next aid package worth 500 million euros, including F-16s and NASAMS systems. In addition, the Norwegian side expressed its willingness to invest in our defense industry,” Kovalenko said.
Recently, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced that Norway would provide more than $118 million for the purchase of weapons and spare parts for Ukraine's F-16 fighters. This year, the country is also expected to deliver six of these fighters to Ukraine.
The illusion of “good Russians”: why is their support unlikely? Ukraine in flames #74
By insidiously launching a genocidal war against Ukraine, Putin and his Kremlin clique have finally established Russia's status as the enemy of humanity. We hope that the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant for Putin is only the beginning of global legal and political recognition of this status. However, it would be dangerously naive to blame only the leader of this Russian half-empire and his closest entourage for all the horrors of this war. Crimes against humanity and genocide against the Ukrainian people are being committed by thousands of ordinary Russians. They came to our land to kill, torture, rape and steal. Watch Ukraine in Flames #74 to find out who the “good Russians” are: do they exist, how could they become allies to the Ukrainians, and can we count on their support to dismantle the hawkish Russian Federation.
