This state visit to Morocco was essential for Emmanuel Macron since it aimed to ease the tensions that have hovered between the two countries for three years. Arriving Monday October 28 in Rabat, the President of the Republic and his wife seem to have had a very good stay alongside the Moroccan royal family. A point which is reassuring given that his predecessor did not have the same results upon his return from the kingdom, in 2013. Indeed, when he was President of the Republic, François Hollande also had the opportunity to meet King Mohammed VI during a state visit to Morocco. As tradition dictates, the former head of state attended the famous dinner accompanied by his ex-wife, Valérie Trierweiler, and many French personalities.
But at the table, the politician allegedly made a series of blunders in front of the sovereign, reports Paris Match. Moving first from “sire” to “majesty”, “this strikes the Moroccans, the men first of all, all in ivory djellaba and red fez, because, when it comes to their king, nothing escapes them”explains the French magazine. Happy to be able to celebrate the friendship between Morocco and France, François Hollande then raised his empty glass in honor of King Mohammed VI. “In Muslim countries, in fact, it is hardly customary to make a toast… A false note in the eyes of the approximately 450 guests of the Moroccan establishment”added Paris Match.

François Hollande too absent from the Assembly? He attracts the wrath of Jean-Michel Aphatie
Elected deputy for Corrèze last July, François Hollande returns to service in French politics. But, according to Le Figaro, the former head of state would have only participated in one vote in the National Assembly since the change of legislature. He would only have voted on the occasion of the motion of censure tabled by the New Popular Front following Michel Barnier's general policy speech. The information immediately caught the attention of Jean-Michel Aphatie. Monday October 28, on the set of Daily, the political journalist made some comments on the subject. “Rousseau and Panot sit, work, whatever!”, he declares. “Mr. Hollande, it’s time to get to work, because it’s not good to be lazy like that!”. A remark made with humor.
