Friday’s date is the GRT’s “best estimate based on the information regarding repair time provided to us this morning by the operator Equinor,” Gassco executive vice-president Alfred Skaar Hansen told Montel. .

The restart time, however, remains uncertain, he said.

Gas prices fall
The hope of a rapid return of Nyhamna caused the European reference price of gas on the Dutch TTF market to fall to EUR 35.25/MWh for the contract of the following month on Tuesday, a drop of EUR 0.76 compared to the settlement from yesterday.

Gas prices temporarily reached their highest level since December 8 on Monday, at EUR 38.70/MWh. This increase is due to the current importance of Norway in supplying Europe with gas, replacing Russian gas, according to the consultancy firm Auxilione.

The Nyhamna processing plant has been out of service since Sunday afternoon due to a pipeline failure at the Sleipner Riser platform, which is preventing it from exporting gas through the Langeled pipeline to Easington, UK.

Gassco said Monday that the shutdown resulted in a reduction in its output nominations of 56.7 Mm3/d.

Nominations of gas transported from Norway to the rest of Europe amounted to 263.5 Mm3/d on Tuesday, compared to 250.9 Mm3/d on Monday morning.
