9:45 a.m.: Blockages are put in place

The main blockage point, on the highway, is coming into place. French and Catalan farmers are now united on the AP-7, between La Jonquera and Figueres. As a reminder, the A9 and AP-7 are closed in both directions after Le Boulou.

9:15 a.m.: Two accidents between Pollestres and Perpignan

Added to the farmers’ blockages is another difficulty. Two accidents occurred in quick succession between Pollestres and Perpignan, on the D900. Three vehicles were involved, including a scooter. The driver of the latter would be on the ground.

Traffic jams formed in both directions, between Porte d’Espagne and Polletres. Be careful in the sector.

9:10 a.m.: The A9 closed in the two years after Le Boulou

The Pyrénées-Orientales prefecture indicates that the A9 is now closed in both directions of traffic between Le Boulou and the Spanish border. “The AP-7 motorway on the Spanish side is also closed in the Spain-France direction,” state services specify.

At the same time, the Col d’Arès, above Prats-de-Mollo-la-Preste was closed.

8:45 a.m.: Blockages will be put in place

The farmers are gathered in Boulou and will gradually go to the other side of the border, via the A9 motorway. A few vehicles are still circulating in the France-Spain direction, but it is impossible to enter the axis from Le Boulou, Perpignan and even Leucate.

As a reminder, traffic is still possible on the A9 towards Narbonne. It is possible to enter the highway at Boulou and Perpignan, if you go north.

7 a.m.: The A9 motorway partially closed for cars

From 7 a.m. this Monday, cars will not be able to enter the A9 motorway, in the France-Spain direction. The A9 will therefore be partially closed all day in the Pyrénées-Orientales, for light vehicles. Trucks will be stored on the axis.

The motorway will remain accessible for light vehicles in the Spain-France direction, towards Narbonne.

6:30 a.m.: Secondary roads closed to trucks

The first traffic restrictions come into force this Monday at 6:30 a.m. The Pyrénées-Orientales prefecture has banned the circulation of heavy goods vehicles on major secondary roads in the department.

Trucks will not be able to reach Spain via departmental road 900 (route du Perthus), departmental road 66 (ex RN-116) or departmental road 914 (route de Cerbère). Heavy goods vehicles will have to stay on the A9 motorway.

6:15 a.m.: Which roads are blocked?

In the Pyrénées-Orientales, several roads could be affected by farmers’ blockages. The A9 motorway will be targeted as a prioritywith a blockage at La Jonquera.

Secondary axes are also in the sights of Catalan farmers. This is the case of Col d’Arès, above Prats-de-Mollo-la-Preste, but also in Cerdagne, and the departmental road 66 (ex-RN 116) near Bourg-Madame.

6 a.m.: “Postpone your trips”

The Pyrénées-Orientales prefecture has been warning for many days: it is advisable to postpone your travel and journeys to Spain this Monday, June 3. The various blockages are planned from 10 a.m. State services have implemented traffic restrictions : details here
