Less than a week before the European elections, generally shunned by Mahorais voters, Zamimou Ahamadi wants to convince each of them of the importance of this election.

Europe has a direct impact on our daily lives

she said, describing the numerous achievements financed by regional development funds FEDER: “You have the Dembeni technopole, the current construction site for Caribus that you see in Passamainty… when you take the barge, know that it is financed by the ‘Europe’.

The elected official also cites the initiatives carried out thanks to the social fund such as the RSMA or the Erasmus program for students.

Europe also finances our cooperation with countries in the region.

Zamimou Ahamadi recognizes the difficulties that Mayotte encounters regarding fishing: “everywhere we are trying to reduce boat fleets, when on the contrary we need to fish more. We must prove that the resource is sufficient, this is what we are working on with the help of IFREMER.” She specifies that “the Departmental Council is already financing 50% of the purchase of 10 modern boats, to begin with”.

The elected official assures that “when the department regains the authority to manage European funds currently shared with the prefecture, we will be able to act on our priorities which are roads, sports and cultural facilities”.
