The score is quite close, and we even came close to 2-2 at the end of the match. But Killian Sardella did not hide his face however.
Feelings were mixed on the Anderlecht side at the end of the match. Because paradoxically, the Mauves could have a little regret: Zanka could and even should have made 2-2 on the very last ball in the Bruges rectangle.
But no one was kidding themselves: it would have been miraculous and undeserved. “It was a very, very, very complicated match,” admitted Killian Sardella at the microphone of DAZN. “I would say we lost this match in the first half. We didn’t play at all.”
In the second, however, Bruges did not suffer much more. “But the state of mind was the right one, we pushed… then we conceded the 2-0 on the counter-attack,” regrets Sardella. “It’s true that we could also have come back at the end but we have to be honest, they deserve their victory.” In the game, Anderlecht never matched.
“We can say that it’s our worst meeting of the season, yes. But it was also the most complicated opponent,” points out the full-back. “It’s a team that plays in the Champions League. Unfortunately, we didn’t respond. They pressed us very high, didn’t give us the opportunity to display our game.”
However, things have been a little complicated in the championship for the RSCA for a few weeks now. “It’s true that we only respond in Europe and that in the championship, it’s more difficult. But we have to keep our heads high because a season is long: Bruges were champions with 20 points behind. What matters is to be in the top 6”, concludes Sardella philosophically.
