Disability does not prevent you from being passionate about sport, but it can sometimes be difficult to be welcomed into a club. After the development of a disability sports charter in 2021, Marseille continues to work for inclusion in sport, by launching the third session of the Inclusive Club.
“ We’re riding the wave of the Olympics to highlight all the people who want to play sport », explains Isabelle Laussine, assistant (PM) in charge of people with disabilities.
12 sports clubs selected
Club managers are present and share this same passion for sport with the kids. Still a little out of breath from his football match with the young people, Pactrick Crouzaud, president of Snem, a sailing club in Estaque, says he is “ very determined to make our sport accessible to all. For example, during the year, we welcome 80 Ulis classes in the city ». This event is an opportunity for him to go further and “ to better understand and discover the associated structures that will be able to help us “.
12 sports clubs were selected, from rugby to sailing. They will benefit for six months from support provided by teachers specializing in disabled sports, all from the Bouches-du-Rhône departmental adapted sports committee. “ Sports clubs will be able to ask for help with administration or the organization of sports sessions », Explains Scarlette Giuliano, president of the departmental adapted sports committee 13.
A fourth session will take place in the fall, after the Olympics and the Paralympics in Paris.
