Culture: closing of the 12th edition of the AJESGUI golden scissors

After the success recorded in previous years, the 12th edition of the young stylists of Guinea AJESGUI was held this weekend at the Mariador Palace hotel. This annual event, dedicated to local content, allows the best 10 stylists from all over Guinea to exhibit their creativity in fashion and come together around Guinean know-how. Which is an opportunity for this AJESGUI structure to support these talented and ambitious young stylists, in order to achieve their goals. The organizer of this competition still remembers the installation of these golden scissors.

“Golden Scissors is a great adventure. Today we celebrate 12 years. By the grace of God, we had two days: yesterday and today. The national competition, we once again elected the new best young stylists of Guinea. The level of creativity is there. All this to consume the local. This has been our goal since the start in 2010. So this fight today we are very proud and delighted,” she encouraged Binta Bah, organizer of the Golden Scissors event.

As for the special delegation from Ratoma and participant at the beginning and end of this commemorative celebration, said they were proud of the talent of these stylists, before thanking the organizer for offering a prize to the President of the Republic of Guinea.


“In my capacity as president of the special delegation from the commune of Ratoma, having participated in the debate at the end, seeing a little of the talent of young Guineans. I’m one of them frankly. But also, what is very special, is the prize that the President of the Republic of Guinea, General Mamadi Doumbouya has just received. By my person I put myself through this organization it is the prize of first promoter and ambassador of Guinean textile”, he congratulated, Ahmed Sekou Traoré

According to the champion on account of this year’s Golden Scissors competition, encourages all stylists to work hard. Because for him, it’s the work that pays off.


“First of all, I love my country and I came to represent the 4 natural regions of course. So the message that I really send to other stylists here and elsewhere is to encourage them to work well as they should. Because only work counts,” she encouraged the winner, Hadjatou Bah

The organizer of the said event appeals to the government to support this national project, which has the sole objective of promoting Guinean textiles.

“We appeal to the authorities to support us. This project is national, it encourages young models to promote the style of Guinea and it promotes textiles. Something that is not easy without the operating budget. We need help to get there,” she asked Binta Bah

It should be remembered that this event of the association of young stylists of Guinea, was by the promoters of Guinean textiles, despite the fact that the event only lasted two days.
