A duplex on Chaudière Avenue in Saint-Georges was engulfed in flames for the second time in two months. The suspicious fire broke out shortly before midnight on the night of Sunday to Monday.
The Saint-Georges fire safety service brought the blaze under control.
No one was injured or inconvenienced by the fire.
No suspect was arrested or met by police in connection with this case.
In August, the building was heavily damaged by a first fire which was also considered suspicious. No one has lived in the building since, and the duplex was no longer connected to the Hydro-Québec network, according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
Two fires in one night
Another suspicious fire took place in Saint-Georges, the same night around 3:00 a.m., in a garbage bin located on 1re Avenue.
The emerging flames were quickly brought under control by firefighters. No buildings were damaged, according to the SQ.
The police do not make a link between the two fires of the night.
